Esta experiencia la tomo de un comentario de Jackie Jackson, en un grupo de LinkedIn llamado “Twittering”.

En un hilo de comentarios e intercambio de usernames de twitter, ella publico lo siguiente:

Something a bit different here – I’d like to ask for your help!
My dad is eighty five and was a well-known UK rally driver with many fantastic tales to tell. With a little help from me he is now on Twitter and, to his amazement has been exchanging tweets with Sir Stirling Moss today!
He finds it very hard to believe that anyone these days would be remotely interested in an eighty five year old chap and I’d love to prove him wrong!

The name, by the way, comes from the fact that he once drove a Ford Motor Company works-prepared car around the world in forty three days – it was a damn long way!

El nombre, a proposito, viene del hecho de que una vez condujo un auto de la Ford Motor Company preparado, alrededor del mundo en cuarenta y tres dias – eso fue un “damn long way”!

Esto nos sirve como ilustracion de algo que siempre hablamos con nuestros clientes: Todos tenemos algo que contar, y sin duda tenemos un publico que espera escucharnos.

Las Comunidades se forman alrededor de esta idea.  No vamos a encontrar todo en un solo lugar, y no esperamos que los medios de comunicacion nos sirvan toda la info que necesitamos o que alguna vez deseamos, por eso la buscamos en comunidades.

El caso del padre de Jackie es intersante para mi, por varias razones, me interesan los autos de competencia clasicos y la disciplina de Eric Jackson: el Rally.

Que esperamos? a bloggear, twittear y a crear nuestras propias comunidades!

Update: Jackie had contacted me regarding this post, and she kindly tell me that she’ll invite his father to read this post.  Because it’s in Spanish, I’ve decided to add a couple of lines in English, just for Mr. Jackson can read it properly, at least, the sentences after Jackie’s original message.  Here it is:

This experience help us to illustrate something we always talk about to our customers: We all have something to tell, and we certainly have an audience waiting to listen to it.

Communities are built around this idea. We will not find everything in one place, and we do not expect the media serve us all the info we ever need or want, so we look in communities.

The case of Jackie’s father is interesting to me, for many reasons, I’m interested in competition classic cars as well as in the discipline of Eric Jackson: Rally.

So, what are we waiting for? Let’s blog, Tweet and build our own Communities!
